Vol. 482 No. 7

Written Answers. - Widow's Contributory Pension.

John Perry

Question:

86 Mr. Perry asked the Minister for the Environment and Local Government if a person (details supplied) in County Sligo will be granted a widow's contributory pension in view of the fact that there is no record on files to indicate that it was offered to her deceased husband. [19229/97]

Sligo County Council's decision to refuse the application of the person concerned for payment of a contributory widow's pension under the local government superannuation scheme has been appealed to me and my Department has requested full details of the case from the county council. The appeal will be decided as soon as all of the relevant information has been received and examined.
