The Deputy will appreciate that it would be premature to provide details of the 1997 expenditure under the various subheads of my Department's Vote at this time, given the fact that a considerable amount of expenditure usually occurs in the final quarter of the year. In any event, the detail requested by the Deputy will be published in due course in the Appropriation Accounts for 1997.
The Deputy will be aware that a considerable amount of information in regard to expenditure by my Department has already been published both in the Revised Estimates for 1997 and the Abridged Estimates for 1998. I expect that there will be ample opportunity to discuss these matters in detail when the debate on my Department's Estimates takes place in due course.
