183 Ms Fitzgerald asked the Minister for Health and Children the EU directives coming wholly or partly under the aegis of his Department which are not currently fully implemented; the reference number and subject matter of each directive; the deadline for implementation set out in each directive; whether he will implement the directives by means of a Bill or Statutory Instrument; and when he will implement these Directives. 84/466 EUROTOM refers to radiation protection of persons undergoing medical treatment. The directive also requires establishment of criteria of acceptability for diagnostic medical facilities using radiation.

Draft documentation previously furnished to the Commission has been confirmed as acceptable by the Commission. Format for a legally binding measure is being drafted and will be forwarded to the Commission in due course for clearance.
