Vol. 483 No. 3

Written Answers. - Travel Allowance.

Breeda Moynihan-Cronin

Question:

211 Mrs. B. Moynihan-Cronin asked the Minister for Health and Children the reason a person (details supplied) in County Kerry who is on unemployment assistance has been refused a travel allowance to take her daughter to Dublin for therapy. [20294/97]

Payment of a travel allowance to enable a person to travel to Dublin for therapy is, in any individual case, the matter for the health board concerned. Accordingly, the Deputy's question has been referred to the chief executive officer, Southern Health Board, with a request that he examine this query and reply directly to the Deputy as a matter of urgency.
