Written Answers. - Grant Payments.

David Stanton

Question:

348 Mr. Stanton asked the Minister for Tourism, Sport and Recreation the reason the grant of £3,000 which was awarded to St. Colman's community college climbing club, Midleton, County Cork, by the previous Government has not been paid; and when his Department intends to pay this grant. [20214/97]

The application is currently being processed in my Department who will be in contact with the club shortly regarding documentation which must be supplied, in accordance with standard procedures, before grant payments can be made.

Breeda Moynihan-Cronin

Question:

349 Mrs. B. Moynihan-Cronin asked the Minister for Tourism, Sport and Recreation when a grant of £5,000 which was allocated to a club (details supplied) in County Kerry will be paid; and the reason for the delay in this regard. [20417/97]

My Department wrote to the club in August 1997 specifying the information and documentation required in order for payment of the grant to be made. When this documentation is submitted and found to be in order the grant will be paid immediately.
