Vol. 483 No. 3

Written Answers. - Schools Refurbishment.

Breeda Moynihan-Cronin

Question:

376 Mrs. B. Moynihan-Cronin asked the Minister for Education and Science the amount of money which has been made available for the repair of the roof of Holy Cross national school, Killarney, County Kerry; and when work will commence on this project. [20255/97]

The proposed major roof works at Holy Cross national school, Killarney, County Kerry, represents phase two of a major improvement scheme which is included in my Department's capital programme.

Phase one of the project is completed and phase two is scheduled for the summer of 1998. The Office of Public Works, Killarney, is currently preparing the tender documentation for this phase.

I would not be happy to publicise the estimated cost at this stage because it could prejudice the competitive tender process.
