397 Mr. Haughey asked the Minister for Education and Science the way in which he will allocate additional resources currently available as a result of the drop in the school-going population; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [20514/97]
The Deputy will be aware that An Action Programme for the Millennium contains a commitment to give primary education a clear priority in allocating resources. I will not be in a position to give full details of expenditure for next year until the completion of both the budget process and consultations with the education partners.
