Vol. 483 No. 6

Written Answers. - Grant Aid.

Richard Bruton

Question:

303 Mr. R. Bruton asked the Minister for the Environment and Local Government the benefits, if any, for which his Department affords preferentially to families or individuals who hold medical cards compared to the rest of the population. [21233/97]

The only schemes of grant assistance administered directly by my Department are new house grants, and group water schemes where grants were approved prior to the delegation of responsibility for this scheme to local authorities. The holding of a medical card does not have a bearing on eligibility or entitlement in either instance.
