Vol. 484 No. 4

Written Answers - Water and Sewerage Schemes.

Pádraic McCormack

Question:

96 Mr. McCormack asked the Minister for the Environment and Local Government the current position regarding the sewerage treatment works for Oranmore, County Galway; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [22459/97]

A tender recommendation for the Oranmore sewerage scheme, which is an integral part of the Galway main drainage scheme, is with my Department. However, having regard to the fact that essential elements of the Galway main drainage scheme are currently the subject of an appeal to the Supreme Court, I am not in a position at this stage to indicate when the scheme may be progressed to construction.
