103 Mr. Ring asked the Minister for Arts, Heritage, Gaeltacht and the Islands the current position regarding special areas of conservation and the proposals, if any, which have been submitted to the EU in this regard. [22435/97]

104 Mr. Ring asked the Minister for Arts, Heritage, Gaeltacht and the Islands whether there has been a change in regulations for special areas of conservation as agreed with the previous Government; and the effect, if any, this will have for farmers. [22436/97]

There has been no change in the European Communities (Natural Habitats) Regulations, 1997 (S.I. No. 94 of 1997), which were signed on 26 February 1997 for the purpose of transposing the EU Habitats Directive into Irish law.

105 Ms McManus asked the Minister for Arts, Heritage, Gaeltacht and the Islands the progress, if any, which has been made in applying regulations under the European Communities Natural Habitats Regulations, 1997 to deal with damage done at The Murrough in County Wicklow; and if she will make a statement on the matter.
