Vol. 485 No. 1

Written Answers. - ESB Subsidiaries.

Gerry Reynolds

59 Mr. G. Reynolds asked the Minister for Public Enterprise the subsidiaries set up by the ESB in relation to its fisheries development. [22552/97]

There are no ESB subsidiaries currently trading in the area of fisheries development.

A number of subsidiaries were established by the ESB in the late 1980s under a holding company — Salmara Holdings Ltd. — for the purpose of involvement in salmon farming activities. The assets of the Salmara Group were disposed of by the ESB in early 1995 and the companies are no longer trading. The ESB is in the process of having the subsidiaries in question removed from the Companies' Register.
