In the same period two internal auditors were appointed to the evaluation and audit unit of the development co-operation division on a two year contract basis at an annual salary of £30,000 each and one temporary secretarial assistant was appointed to the Irish Aid Advisory Committee while one service officer, four clerical assistants, one executive officer, systems analyst, three third secretaries and one assistant principal officer were recruited through the Civil Service Commission to fill vacancies arising in these grades in the Department. In addition, two clerical assistants and one staff officer took up duty in the Department on redeployment from the Central Statistics Office.
