143 Mr. Ring asked the Minister for Agriculture and Food when a person (details supplied) in County Mayo will be paid his 1997 cattle headage grants. [22835/97]

Under the 1997 cattle headage scheme, the person named applied on an animal which was not in his possession at date of application. The person named was notified that consequently, a 100 per cent penalty would apply in accordance with the terms and conditions governing the cattle headage scheme. The person named has appealed this penalty and a decision on this appeal will issue shortly.

144 Mr. Ring asked the Minister for Agriculture and Food when a person (details supplied) in County Mayo will be paid his 1997 cattle headage and premia grants in view of the fact that he was inspected some time ago. [22836/97]

The person named will be paid his 1997 cattle headage grant and the advance payment on his 1997 special beef premium scheme before Christmas.

The person named will be paid his entitlement under the 1997 cattle headage scheme before Christmas.

146 Mr. Ring asked the Minister for Agriculture and Food the reason a person (details supplied) in County Mayo, who submitted an application for a grant in respect of a slatted cattle shed on 20 February 1995, has received no acknowledgement correspondence or other contact from his Department. [22838/97]

My Department has no record of an application from this person under any of the onfarm investment schemes.

147 Mr. Ring asked the Minister for Agriculture and Food when a person (details supplied) in County Mayo will receive his payment due in respect of 89 ewes having already received payment for 25 ewe hoggets and having 100 acres of mountain commonage, the same as in 1996. [22839/97]

The delay on paying outstanding grants on the mountain ewes to the person named was due to problems arising in the digitising of the mountain grazing. Arrangements are now being made to pay the outstanding amount due on the mountain ewes.
