Michael Ring

Question:

156 Mr. Ring asked the Minister for Agriculture and Food the amount a person (details supplied) in County Mayo was paid for each headage and premia scheme in 1997; and the exact levels of stock for each scheme. [22957/97]

Under the 1997 sheep headage scheme, an amount of £1,200 was paid on 28 September 1997 based on 115 mountain ewes and five hogget ewes. The top-up amount due under this scheme will be paid within the next two weeks.

Under the 1997 cattle headage scheme, an amount of £1,389 was paid to the estate of the person named on 27 November 1997 based on 13 beef cows and 15 animals under two years of age.

Under the 1997 suckler cow premium scheme, an amount of £1,093.79 was paid to the estate of the person named on 1 December 1997 based on 13 suckler cows. The balance of £729.20 will issue early in 1998.

Under the 1997 ewe premium scheme, a first advance of £579.25 was paid on 8 July 1997 based on a quota of 64 ewes. The second advance under this scheme will issue to the estate of the person named in the next few weeks.

157 Mr. Aylward asked the Minister for Agriculture and Food further to Parliamentary Question No. 208 of 2 December 1997 if he will note the copy of a signed application (details supplied) submitted to the Department dated 8 May 1997 regarding the area aid application of a person (details supplied) in County Kilkenny; and if he will have arrangements made to have payment made. [22958/97]

The signed area aid application has been noted and the following payments have now issued to the person named: £72 in respect of 1997 sheep headage application; £1,717.78 in respect of 1997 cattle headage application; and £1,947.67 in respect of 1997 ten month special beef premium application.

158 Mr. Aylward asked the Minister for Agriculture and Food further to Parliamentary Question No. 184 of 2 December 1997 the reason payment in respect of 12 animals has not issued to a person (details supplied) in County Kilkenny who has already received payment in respect of the three animals mentioned in his previous reply. [22959/97]

Payment of the balance due to the person named under the 1997 beef cow scheme will be made before Christmas.

159 Mr. Deenihan asked the Minister for Agriculture and Food when headage payments will be made to a person (details supplied) in County Kerry; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [22961/97]

The following payments have now issued to the person named: £1,046 in respect of 1997 cattle headage application; £108.20 in respect of 1997 ten month special beef premium application; and £108.20 in respect of 1997 22 month special beef premium application.
