336 Mr. Hogan asked the Minister for Tourism, Sport and Recreation the number of staff recruited by his Department since taking office; the function and remuneration, including expenses, of each of these staff; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [22913/97]

As costs such as telephones, office maintenance expenses, office machinery, furniture and so on are charged against broad organisational headings as part of the Department's administrative budget rather than against individual staff members, it is not possible to extract accurate figures for other incidental expenses associated with the activities of these staff.
In addition to the above, my Department has filled two clerical assistant vacancies. The annual remuneration paid to these staff is £10,898 and £11,395 respectively.
