31 Mr. Penrose asked the Minister for Public Enterprise the decision, if any, received from the European Commission on the State aid aspect of the proposal for a natural gas trunk line from Dublin to Galway and south to Limerick; and if she will make a statement on the matter. [22778/97]

The European Commission has not yet taken a decision on this matter. However, the Commission has sought additional information about the proposal and I have furnished the information to it.
