197 Mr. M. Higgins asked the Minister for Health and Children if it is his Department's intention to give funding to enable the local authority to accede to the request of the people of Roundstone, County Galway for a new health centre. [23291/97]

The provision of a health centre in Roundstone is a matter for the Western Health Board in the first instance. The position in relation to this development is that it will be considered in the context of the capital resources available in 1998 and competing demands.
