The area aid application of the person concerned was randomly selected for an area aid inspection in accordance with EU regulations. The results have now been recorded and payment, based on the results of the inspection, will be made shortly in respect of the special beef premium application.

Michael Creed

Question:

94 Mr. Creed asked the Minister for Agriculture and Food if a person (details supplied) in County Cork is entitled to a headage payment on lands planted for forestry. [23468/97]

The person named planted 1.3 hectares of land in 1988 and 1.7 hectares in 1989. Under condition 3 (c) of the 1988 scheme of compensatory allowances in respect of forestry, a minimum of two hectares must have been planted to qualify for headage payments. The person therefore is not eligible under the 1988 or 1989 schemes.

There were no schemes of compensatory allowances in respect of forestry in 1990 or in subsequent years.
