209 Mr. Quinn asked the Minister for the Marine and Natural Resources the proposals for legis- lation being prepared under the auspices of his Department where heads have not been approved to date by Government; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [1108/98]
In line with the programme for Government and other priorities, proposals for legislation are being or will be considered by my Department in the following areas: management of inland fisheries and fishery harbours; manage- ment of the coastal zone, which will be done in conjunction with other relevant Departments — a discussion document was published recently and a public consultation process is under way; development of marine emergency capabilities and marine accident investigation; development of minerals potential; development of the poten- tial of seaweed resources.
