Vol. 486 No. 1

Written Answers. - River Boyne Project.

Michael Bell

Question:

253 Mr. Bell asked the Minister for the Marine and Natural Resources the reason for the delay in the finalising of the Tom Roe's Point River Boyne Project; the reason the go-ahead for this project has not been sanctioned by him to date; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [1734/98]

The environmental impact statement for the proposed Drogheda port development was submitted to my Department as part of an application for a foreshore lease in accordance with the Foreshore Acts, and was advertised in September 1997. This resulted in a number of objections which were forwarded to Drogheda Port Company. The responses to these objections from Drogheda Port Company are currently being considered by my Department.
