275 Cecilia Keaveney asked the Minister for the Marine and Natural Resources the moneys, if any, which have not been used under the EU PESCA Initiative for Ireland; if so, when these moneys will be allocated; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [2127/98]
The amount of EU aid remaining to be allocated under the PESCA Community Initiative is 3.4 mecu — approximately £2.6 million. Approvals under the PESCA programme are on target. I expect to approve a further batch of projects in the near future. This and a further round anticipated in 1999 will fully allocate all available EU funding under the initiative.
