Question:

491 Mr. Quinn asked the Minister for Finance the proposals for legislation being prepared under the auspices of his Department where heads have not been approved to date by Government; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [1112/98]

I propose to take Questions Nos. 484 and 491 together.

On 23 January 1998 the Government Chief Whip issued a press release announcing details of the Government's legislation programme. Some of the Bills referred to in the press release are at an initial stage of preparation and may not be published before the end of the year.

My Department is currently working on the following two Bills in respect of which heads have been approved by the Government: the Investor Bill and the Central Bank Bill.

My Department is also working on the following Bills in respect of which the Government has not yet approved heads: the Administrative Procedures Bill, the Appropriation Bill, the Bretton Woods (Amendment) Bill, the EMU Bill, the Finance Bill, the Ombudsman (Amendment) Bill, the Protection of the Financial Interests of the European Communities and Administrative Fines Bill, the Standards in Public Office Bill, the Stage Agency Claims Bill and the Valuation Bill.
