Question:

631 Dr. Upton asked the Minister for the Environment and Local Government if he will give details of moneys given by his Department to charities for each of the years from 1990 to date in 1998; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [1239/98]

In general, my Department does not make funds available to charities. However, the Department does grant aid the administration and general expenses of certain housing research and information bodies which are charities. Details are set out in the following table.
