639 Mr. Neville asked the Minister for the Environment and Local Government the plans, if any, he has to celebrate the centenary of the establishment of the present local authority system; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [1344/98]
Shortly after coming into office I established a working group, which included councillors and officials, to advise me on arrangements for the commemoration at national level of the centenary of our local government system. I hope to be in a position soon to advise local authorities of the details.
