Question:700 Mr. Ring asked the Minister for Social, Community and Family Affairs when a person (details supplied) in County Mayo will be approved a lone parent's allowance. [1889/98]

The person concerned re-applied for a one-parent family payment on 12 December 1997. She had been in receipt of this payment until 25 August 1997 when her claim was terminated because she was co-habiting with another person.
The situation relating to her latest claim is being investigated by a local officer of the Department. It is expected that this investigation will be concluded shortly and the person concerned will be notified of the outcome by the Department as soon as possible.
