710 Mr. Quinn asked the Minister for Arts, Heritage, Gaeltacht and the Islands the proposals for legislation being prepared under the auspices of her Department where heads have been approved by Government; the expected date of publication; and if she will make a statement on the matter. [1011/98]

Minister for Arts, Heritage, Gaeltacht and the Islands (Miss de Valera):

It is proposed to publish the Wildlife (Amendment) Bill, 1998, later this year. The Bill, which is at an advanced stage of preparation, will update the Wildlife Act, 1976, and will comply with international agreements.
