778 Mr. J. Bruton asked the Minister for Justice, Equality and Law Reform further to Parliamentary Question No. 367 of 2 December 1997 and Parliamentary Question No. 240 of 17 December 1997 if he will outline the further progress, if any, to date regarding the non-payment of money owed by his Department to a person in County Meath. [1728/98]

I am informed by the Garda authorities that the Garda file on this matter has been forwarded to the Chief State Solicitor's Office, for submission to the Attorney General for his directions. I will keep the Deputy informed of developments.
