176 Mr. Perry asked the Minister for Health and Children if a person (details supplied) in County Sligo will be immediately called for his hip replacement operation in view of his medical condition and the length of time he is on the waiting list; and if he will make a statement on the matter. The provision of medical treatment to eligible persons in County Sligo is the statutory responsibility of the North Western Health Board in the first instance. I have asked the chief executive office of the North Western Health Board to investigate the position in relation to this case and to reply to the Deputy directly as a matter of urgency.
