295 Mr. Ring asked the Minister for Education and Science the reason permanent appointments have not been made on the VTOS in view of the fact that the scheme in Mayo has been in operation for over two years and there are prospects of its continuance. [2651/98]
Negotiations are currently taking place with the relevant parties in relation to the detailed procedures for permanent appointments in respect of VTOS.
As soon as these negotiations are concluded my Department will issue a circular letter to vocational education committees outlining the criteria for making permanent appointments in VTOS.
