Vol. 486 No. 3

Written Answers. - Grant Payments.

Liam Aylward

Question:

128 Mr. Aylward asked the Minister for Agriculture and Food if a 1997 area aid application was amended by his Department on 8 January 1998 and, if so, if he will have arrangements made for the payment of ten month suckler cow and beef cow grants to a person (details supplied) in County Kilkenny. [2528/98]

The area aid application of the person named was randomly selected for inspection in accordance with EU regulations. The results of this inspection have now been received and processed. The person named made a claim on a parcel of land to which he was not entitled to claim. This has been considered to be a false declaration and as such the person named has been disqualified for the current year in accordance with clause six of the terms and conditions of the area aid scheme.

Jimmy Deenihan

Question:

129 Mr. Deenihan asked the Minister for Agriculture and Food the current position regarding the appeal by a person (details supplied) in County Kerry against a decision disallowing headage grant payments for 1997. [2588/98]

The person named was paid his full entitlement of £702.80 under the 1997 cattle headage scheme on 15 December 1997.

Michael P. Kitt

Question:

130 Mr. M. Kitt asked the Minister for Agriculture and Food when a suckler cow premium, which is due since December 1993, will be paid to a person (details supplied) in County Galway. [2592/98]

My Department is not satisfied that the person named had ownership and possession of all the animals he applied on under the 1992 suckler cow premium scheme. He was considered to have made a false declaration and this meant that he was deemed ineligible for the 1992 and 1993 suckler cow premium schemes.
