302 Mr. McGrath asked the Minister for Tourism, Sport and Recreation if he will provide grant aid in 1998 to Athlone Urban District Council to enable it to proceed with the provision of the regional sports centre in Athlone. [3358/98]

My Department has recently been in correspondence with the council on a number of issues which still need to be resolved before I will be in a position to confirm grant approval for this project.
