106 Mr. Broughan asked the Minister for Justice, Equality and Law Reform when he will introduce legislation to give effect to the EU directive on parental leave agreed to in Partnership 2000; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [22025/97]

Minister for Justice, Equality and Law Reform (Mr. O'Donoghue)

Legislation is being developed which will give effect to the EU Directive on parental leave. It is intended to have this legislation enacted by 3 June 1998, in line with the commitment in Partnership 2000.
