Written Answers. - Grant Payments.

John Perry

Question:

165 Mr. Perry asked the Minister for Agriculture and Food if his Department will rescind the decision made in relation to an agrimonetary grant for a person (details supplied) in County Sligo in view of the fact that he requested the application form on numerous occasions, as they were not available on request and when he finally did receive it he had no alternative but to submit it late; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [3234/98]

In view of the circumstances of this case, arrangements have been made to accept the application from the person named and provided it is in order, payment can be expected shortly.

Bernard J. Durkan

Question:

166 Mr. Durkan asked the Minister for Agriculture and Food when a 22 month beef premium grant will be paid to a person (details supplied) in County Kildare; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [3237/98]

The person concerned submitted a 22 month special beef premium application in respect of 80 animals on 13 March 1997. This application was subject to an on-farm inspection following which two animals were found to have lost their eartags and were consequently deleted from the application. A third animal was rejected as absent resulting in a penalty of 1.3 per cent being imposed on the remaining 77 eligible animals.

Payment in respect of the first instalment for the 77 eligible animals will now issue as soon as possible.

Michael Creed

Question:

167 Mr. Creed asked the Minister for Agriculture and Food when a person (details supplied) in County Cork will be paid his 1997 suckler cow and cattle headage grants. [3326/98]

The 1997 cattle headage payments will issue to the person named within the next two weeks. The suckler cow application of the person named was submitted in October 1997 and consequently payment will not issue in respect of this application until April 1998 after the stipulated six months retention period under the scheme.
