Question:

135 Mr. Ring asked the Minister for Agriculture and Food when a person (details supplied) in County Mayo will be paid his 1997 headage and premia schemes grants. [3983/98]

The person named applied on 20 animals under the 1997 cattle headage scheme. Three of these animals have not as yet been registered with the National Calf Birth Registration Service as required by Clause 11 of the terms and conditions governing this scheme. My Department wrote to the person named on 29 January 1998 regarding this matter and when the animals concerned have been registered, his application will be processed for payment.

The person named was paid a 60 per cent advance of £841.38 under the 1997 suckler cow scheme on 5 February 1998. The balance due under this scheme will be paid to him shortly.

The person named was paid his full entitlement under the 1997 sheep headage scheme of £700 on 5 December 1997. The sheep headage top-up of £70 was paid on 11 December 1997.

Under the 1997 ewe premium scheme, the person named was paid his first advance of £633.54 on 8 July 1997 and the second advance of £247.47 on 13 November 1997. The balance of his entitlement under this scheme will be paid to him shortly.

The person named will be paid his entitlement on the 1997 equine headage scheme within the next week.
