Vol. 487 No. 3

Written Answers. - Tax Dispute.

Michael Moynihan

Question:

180 Mr. M. Moynihan asked the Minister for Finance if the Revenue Commissioners will grant an appeal to persons (details supplied) in County Cork in relation to a long running tax dispute they have with the Revenue Commissioners. [4114/98]

I am informed by the Revenue Commissioners that in 1993 a settlement was formally agreed between the commissioners, the taxpayers' agent and the taxpayers in relation to unpaid taxes. The status of that settlement and the circumstances surrounding it have been the subject of protracted correspondence with the commissioners. I am further informed that the commissioners are satisfied that the settlement was final and conclusive and may not be the subject of an appeal.
