Vol. 487 No. 3

Written Answers. - Nursing Homes.

Andrew Boylan

Question:

194 Mr. Boylan asked the Minister for Health and Children the current position regarding the North-Eastern Health Board for the provision of a nursing home at Ballyconnell, County Cavan, and Virginia, County Cavan; if the allocation has been made to the North-Eastern Health Board; the amount of the allocation for 1998; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [4029/98]

Stage 3 plans are under examination in my Department for the proposed nursing unit at Ballyconnell. Stage 2 of the planning of the unit at Virginia is proceeding.

While final decisions have yet to be made in relation to the 1998 capital programme for older people, it is the intention of the Department that both projects will be considered in the course of the review of the overall capital programme.
