Vol. 487 No. 3

Written Answers. - Garda Stations.

John Bruton

Question:

255 Mr. J. Bruton asked the Minister for Justice, Equality and Law Reform if he will provide a detailed progress report on the Department's plans, if any, to carry out renovation and refurbishment work to the old Garda station in Dunshaughlin, County Meath; and when will construction work begin on the project. [3863/98]

The Office of Public Works have examined the options for the future accommodation of the gardaí in Dunshaughlin and have reported that the most economical solution would be the refurbishment of the old station. Planning has proceeded on this basis and Garda management are currently examining a revised sketch scheme prepared on this basis.

It is not possible to say at this stage when this project might commence as there are a number of projects to be completed ahead of Dunshaughlin.
