304 Mr. Bradford asked the Minister for Education and Science if he will offer the school authorities an assurance that all teaching posts will be retained in September 1998 following his recent meeting with a deputation from Scoil Mhuire na Trócaire, Buttevant, County Cork. [3901/98]
I can confirm that I met with a deputation from Scoil Mhuire na Trócaire last week to discuss the position regarding teaching posts in the school. The teaching post which recently became vacant as a result of the resignation of one of the teachers in the school may be filled on a temporary basis until the end of the current school year. However, as I explained to the deputation, it is not possible at this stage to indicate what staffing levels will prevail at the school from September 1998. This matter will be reviewed as soon as the staffing schedule for the 1998-99 school year has been finalised.
