Vol. 487 No. 6

Written Answers - Schools Building Projects.

John V. Farrelly

Question:

315 Mr. Farrelly asked the Minister for Education and Science when the report on an application for extension and refurbishment, under examination by his planning department, will be made available for a school (details supplied) in County Meath; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [4554/98]

The school to which the Deputy refers has applied for a major extension which would involve significant capital expenditure. In order to consider this application, my Department requires to assess the school's predicted long-term enrolment. This assessment is currently under way. Every effort will be made to expedite this assessment and my Department will inform the school of the outcome.
