Vol. 487 No. 6

Written Answers - Army Pensions.

Michael Bell

Question:

139 Mr. Bell asked the Minister for Defence the reason for the delay in processing the case of a person (details supplied) which has been ongoing for the past two years. [4580/98]

The person in question has applied for a disability pension under the Army Pensions Acts in respect of a number of medical conditions. His case is under consideration by the Army Pensions Board, which is the statutory body appointed under those Acts, to investigate and report on applications for disability pensions. When the board has completed its consideration of the case and reported to the Department, the matter will be dealt with promptly and he will be notified of the outcome of his application without delay.
