155 Mr. U. Burke asked the Minister for Agriculture and Food when a person (details supplied) in County Galway will receive a herd number in view of the fact that he is waiting two years for sanction and approval; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [4889/98]

An application for a herd number by the person in question was previously refused due to a lack of suitable handling facilities. However, a further inspection was carried out on 18 February 1998 and a final decision will be made on his application in the near future.
