Vol. 488 No. 2

Written Answers. - Hospital Waiting List.

John Perry

Question:

147 Mr. Perry asked the Minister for Health and Children if he will have arrangements made to have a person (details supplied) in County Sligo immediately called for a hip operation, in view of the fact that he is having extreme difficulty walking and is an elderly man of 82 years of age. [5894/98]

The provision of medical treatment to eligible persons in County Sligo is a matter for the North-Western Health Board in the first instance. I have asked the chief executive officer of the North-Western Health Board to investigate the position in relation to this case and to reply to the Deputy directly as a matter of urgency.
