Question:135 Mr. Creed asked the Minister for Agriculture and Food when a person (details supplied) in County Cork will receive his 1997 suckler cow and headage grants. [6238/98]
No applications were received in 1997 from the person named under the 1997 cattle headage or suckler cow schemes. However, my Department, on foot of a certificate of posting, accepted a 1997 cattle headage application on 13 January 1998. The person named listed an invalid tag number under this application and my Department wrote to him on 3 March 1998 and asked him to furnish the correct tag number. The tag number supplied by him on 5 March in response to this request was also incorrect and my Department has again been in contact with the person named on this matter. Payment will issue when the matter is clarified.
The person named did not apply under the 1997 suckler cow premium scheme.
