180 Mr. Stanton asked the Minister for Health and Children the arrangements, if any, in place in his Department and in any State agency or body under his control to encourage or enforce the reuse or recycling of paper and, in particular, of envelopes; and if he will make a statement on the matter. As a matter of policy in my Department all confidential waste paper is taken away and shredded for recycling purposes. With a view to reducing paper usage generally staff in my Department are encouraged to reuse envelopes for internal communication, to utilise the e mail system and to use double sided photocopying where feasible.
The position in the various bodies under the aegis of my Department would be a matter for each of the bodies concerned.
