187 Ms Cooper-Flynn asked the Minister for Agriculture and Food if a person (details supplied) in County Mayo has a share in the commonage in view of the fact that he has been paying rent and rates for the commonage over the years. [7394/98]

My Department's records relating to commonage are largely confined to the redistribution of land by the Land Commission. It appears that a share in the commonage concerned was allotted by the Land Commission to the person referred to in the question as the first owner.
