277 Mr. Wall asked the Minister for the Environment and Local Government when he will approve Kildare County Council's submission in relation to the employment of consultants for the Kildare water strategy; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [7021/98]

Consideration of the local authority's proposal for the proposed water strategy study is nearing completion. I hope to be in a position to convey a decision in the matter in the near future.
