Vol. 489 No. 1

Adjournment Debate Matters.

I wish to advise the House of the following matters in respect of which notice has been given under Standing Order 21 and the name of the Member in each case: (1) Deputy Ring — the plans, if any, the Minister for Justice, Equality and Law Reform has to regulate or prevent public demonstrations on the main streets in Dublin and whether a section of Phoenix Park could be used instead; (2) Deputy Stanton — the need to make funding available to support the construction of a new swimming pool in Cobh, County Cork; (3) Deputy Deenihan — the urgent need to approve a pilot tax scheme as submitted by SFADCo to stimulate development on the State owned Tarbert-Ballylongford land bank on the Shannon estuary; (4) Deputy Kenny — the breach of the PCW agreement by the Department of Arts, Heritage, Gaeltacht and the Islands through the employment of staff on a contract basis given that such contracts do not allow for access to the range of benefits available to civil servants and other workers; (5) Deputy Enright — the need to take immediate steps to ensure that Tullamore Garda station is upgraded.

The matters raised by Deputies Deenihan, Kenny, Ring and Enright have been selected for discussion.
