41 Mr. Broughan asked the Minister for Education and Science the position on the establishment of a national policy advisory and development committee as promised in the Schools IT 2000 programme; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [7516/98]
A successful seminar for the partners in education was held in my Department on Thursday, 12 February 1998 as part of the process in the establishment of the National Policy Advisory and Development Committee as proposed in Schools IT 2000 — A Policy Framework for the New Millennium. I have appointed Mr. Michael Cotter as chairman of the National Policy Advisory and Development Committee. The board of management of the National Centre for Technology in Education is putting in place the necessary procedures for the establishment of the National Policy Advisory and Development Committee.
