Vol. 489 No. 1

Written Answers. - Redundancy Payments.

Michael Finucane

Question:

88 Mr. Finucane asked the Tánaiste and Minister for Enterprise, Trade and Employment when statutory redundancy will be paid to a person (details supplied) in County Limerick. [7594/98]

The liquidator of the company where the person concerned was previously employed forwarded a claim to the redundancy payments section earlier this month in respect of the payment of a statutory redundancy lump sum from the social insurance fund, to the person named. It normally takes four to six weeks to process a lump sum claim where no queries require clarification. In the present case, some queries need to be resolved so payment may take a little longer.
