Vol. 489 No. 1

Written Answers. - EU Procurement Directives.

David Stanton

Question:

94 Mr. Stanton asked the Minister for Public Enterprise if she has satisfied herself that all semi-State companies and State agencies under her auspices, in particular the ESB, have complied fully and properly with EU Council directives pertaining to tender registration, particularly in view of ongoing negotiations regarding Structural Funding. [7663/98]

Compliance with the requirements of EU procurement directives, including adherence to the tendering process, is a matter for each of the State bodies themselves, which are contracting authorities in their own right. All the bodies under the aegis of my Department have been made aware of the relevant EU directives.
